Nutrition: the often underestimated key

 

Nails are made up primarily of keratin, a protein that needs specific nutrients to stay strong.

 

A deficiency in B vitamins, particularly those associated with healthy hair and nails, can make them thinner and more brittle. Similarly, insufficient protein intake can slow their growth and weaken their structure.

 

On your plate, favour a varied and balanced diet: eggs, fish, legumes, green vegetables, dried fruits… These foods naturally support the structure of the nail and improve its appearance over time.

 

Dehydration, the silent enemy of nails

 

We often think about moisturizing our skin, but much less about our nails. Yet, a lack of water can make them dry, dull, and prone to splitting. If your nails are peeling like leaves, it’s sometimes simply a sign that your body is dehydrated.

 

Drinking regularly throughout the day and applying a nourishing cream or oil to the hands and cuticles can already make a real difference.
